So we are now in Day 2 of our roadtrip. As I have already mentioned earlier, the itenary will be changing now. Instead of as it was planned that we will be setting out for Pondicherry during the evening time, instead we will be setting out post breakfast. This means that we have to have a heavy breakfast. So, as usual had to wake up early, however not as early as the previous day, but still 7.30am was early for me! Ask from a late riser what a pain it is to wake up early. Anyways completed all my chores in an hour, had a sumptuous breakfast and was ready to leave for the next destination. By 10am we were all set to leave for Mahabalipuram or Mahabs as the locals call it.
It was a pleasant, and sunny morning. The sun rays were kissing the buildings. However, back at my place in CCU it was raining and winds were blowing, as the super cyclone Phailin was setting in. It was the second-strongest tropical cyclone ever to make landfall in India. With some tensions for back home, was now on the way to Mahabs. Once we left Chennai we were welcomed on to the East Coast Road (ECR). This is the road which connects Chennai with Pondicherry. Mahabs was in between Chennai and Pondicherry.
A skyline, just outskirts of Chennai on ECR -
Through the winding paths of ECR, we were speedily going towards Mahabs. The roads were just great, and so were the landscapes around the road was just astounding. Let the pictures do the talking.
And hence, we arrived at Mahabs.Up next the experience in Mahabs.
