So after a sumptuous meal we headed towards Pondicherry. So from the land of Pallavas we move to the land of French settlers. The road from Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry is very picturesque as well as twisty, though its a flat terrain. This route is having high traffic count round the year, thanks to the tourist belt, stretching till Pondicherry. Here is a look on the road, which is the continuation of ECR. Take a look at the pictures. It takes around 1.5 hrs-2hrs, from Mahabs till Pondy depending on the traffic.
As the roads keeps on passing, very soon a bridge comes up, which a canal underneath. It being said that this canal divides TN from Pondy!
This is the canal and the bridge, which divides.
Now as you are entering into Pondy side, you would be welcomed by an installation (Amar Jawan type). That also acts as the welcome gate to Pondy.
Welcome to Pondicherry. This has a statue of Indira Gandhi in it.
This is arterial road which connects straight till the coastline.
